Joy

So many things make me happy:
A piece of chocolate when you are craving it.
Being able to sleep in on a rainy day
Receiving a package in the mail
Find something on sale
Being invited over for supper on a night that you don't' know what to cook
That first cup of coffee in the morning
Sunday afternoon naps
A good comedy

Shopping None of the joys of my life can come close to the joy of this little boy. He is thrilled, excited, happy, and laughing. What is he so happy with? A plastic toy box and his grandpa. Pure and simple joy.

Chop Chop

Here on the farm 'bout this time of the year we have a very serious season. It's called choppin - Now you can chop 'bout anything. Alfalfa, corn, and..well that is all I know. I am still new to this farm wife stuff. But here is my version of choppin.

First the signs go up. Showing that supertrucking is happening. Beware of trucks coming and going.
Then you see it..corn. Glorious corn, dried and ready.

Then the rumble and smoke. A tractor and a driver and the earth. What more do you need. The tractor drives the chopper which then throws it in the wagon in very small particles.

The wagon then dumps it into the trucks.

Next is a very important part of the chopping season and I played a role in it. I feel invigorated, I feel empowered, I feel important. I feel like a genuine farm wife. I made lunch for the crew.

Which in turns give the truckers the juice that they need to keep going. They love me for this.
And in turn for me making lunch, I get to take pictures of my farmer and the little fluff fluff and he has to smile because I made lunch and he owes me for this.

The truck then dumps it into the bagger to be stored until future need.

These are rows and rows of good homegrown food. They get used throughout the year and will be replenished next year.

The tractor then pulls the feed from the bags and puts it into the feed wagon.

Which then gets feed to these fella's (when they get bigger) and others.

And that completes the circle of chopping. I am glad to be your guide for this excursion. It is been a thrill ride, I know. But it makes my hubby happy and that in turn makes me happy. Another circle of life.

We're Home

Missi - Oh, Boy! Oh, Boy! Oh, Boy! Adam's home. My life has meaning again. Chasing Cattle will bring me joy. I can eat manure and then lick him, just to show him just how much I love him.

Missi - And he brought me something!!! I could not be any happier! I could roll in something dead and not be any more happy.
Roscoe - This is it? This is all you brought me? Come to think of it, where have you been? OK. Yeah. I think I 'm going to go chew on my sock now.

Adam - I can't believe we brought all this stuff home. We brought home more than what we left with. She packed two suitcases, two pillows, a blanket and all this other stuff that she never even used. I had to carry all this from place to place all by my self. Now I get to bring it all home .
Laundry - Please wash us. We smell, we are tired and we are dirty. You know what you wear all the time is in here. All you have to do is take it out, sort it, wash it, dry it and hang it up. Come on, we are calling you. Wash us...Wash us...

Welcome Home!
