It has been a long road

Roscoe came into my life about a month after he was born. A couple at church had a litter of puppies and book club was at her house that month. I fell in love right away. (Adam not so much) I came home that night telling Adam about these adorable fluffy puppies that were house trained. He automatically said no. A couple of weeks later the couple came up to me at church and said that they still had the puppies and wanted to know if I was interested. I said yes, and once again Adam said no. A week later the puppies came to visit me at my house and I fell in love all over again and Adam did not. He had a list of reasons: He doesn't want a dog in the house. Missi will eat it. The house will smell. And on and on. After a little persuading (nagging) he finally gave in and said " I don't care, do whatever you want!" and I went and got my puppy.

This was the night we got the puppy. As soon as we left Adam didn't talk to me, and he continued to give me the silent treatment for a week. So that was a quick lesson for me on "I don't care!" really means I do care, but I want you to quit persuading me. Trying to fix what I had done, I told him he could name the puppy and he came up with Roscoe. The bonding started, but the problem was, the bonding was between Roscoe and myself. Not Adam and Roscoe. I tried....

Roscoe tried. I tried harder....

Note to self, a man holding a little white dog on a leash in public does not help him like the white dog.  But we kept trying...

Maybe the bonding is working. They are both smiling, or maybe it is Roscoe gasping for air and Adam smiling. I'm going to go with they are both having fun and learning to like each other.

Maybe not, As quick as they rise, they fall. And once again a grown man is caught in a picture holding the little white dog and not liking it.

If you tilt your head just right and squint your eyes and in dim light this picture is a display of love between the men in my life. Adam is in his element which could have been my problem all along. Put Roscoe in a dirty truck that smells like manure and Adam will fall in love.

After several month, a few accidents, and lots of buttons ate. Roscoe has earned a place in Adam's heart. Adam calls him his "lunch buddy" and "little fluff fluff". These are the men in my life. Each special in their own way. The bond that connects them these days is a nap with a snuggie on a couch. Maybe there is not much difference at all.

Happy Birthday to Me

On January 3rd I turned 27! Uggghhh! I can not believe it. I know everyone struggles with one particular birthday and so far (knock on wood) this has been my hardest. I am no longer in my mid twenties and I am three years away from being 30. Adam is younger than me and is always quick to tell me that I am now in my late 20's.
Also I can honestly can feel my biological clock ticking..constintanly.**Sandi...tick..tick..tick..you don't have a kid..tick..tick..you are almost 30..tick..tick...when are you going to use me...tick..tick...your getting older...tick..tick..everyday...older..tick..**

I just hit snooze again and roll on...the best thing about birthdays are the gifts. You knew that didn't you?? Oh yeah and the people you are with.

Or the Fluff Fluffs that you are with. He helped me have a very very happy birthday.

But these are the gifts that make the day special, memorable, fantastic. Like this ipod touch that Adam got for me. I was wanting an ipod and usually Adam is the the kind of gift giver that you have to go with him and pick it out wrap it and then you get the bill and have to pay for as well, but not this time. He was on it, makes me wonder if after almost 9 years of being together I might be getting him trained.

A purse! My weakness, my knees get wobbly, I get giddy, and I start to hyperventilate. I then realize that people are staring at me and I try to act cool. I fell in love with this purse at the salon where I get my hair done. I went in to get some product and spotted it, the problem was payday was the next day and when I went in the  to get the beloved purse, it was gone. I was crushed. I even went to another store to get a purse and it just happened to be closed. Tears were forming at the corners or my eyes, then anger set in. How could she sell my purse? She didn't even offer to order me another one? Grrr..So imagine my glee when I opened my present at my in laws house and it was my purse! A gift and a surprise all wrapped up into one. My day could not have been better.  Kayla had overheard me telling a friend that I had seen it and told Arlene about it and she then called Brittany at the salon and Brittany had just pulled it off the shelf an hour before I got there. Brittany was then working on my moms hair when I walked in, so my mom knew about it. What a fantastic plan. I love it.

This was the cake that my sister in law, Chara made for the birthday dinner. My mother in law, Arlene's birthday is on the 5th, so while I got my angel food cake with strawberries, Arlene requested a snowman cake. Didn't she do a fantastic job? Make me want to starting singing a song "Frosty the snowman.."

Then while I was at work the next day, these flowers were delievered to me. I was completely shocked! After the ipod touch I figured Adam had went above and beyond, but then the flowers came and I knew I had be spoiled.Every girl has a right to be spoiled on her birthday.

Bad Pupppy

One morning last week I was getting ready to go to work and I got to thinking that I had not seen nor heard from Roscoe in a while and I went to investigate. That is when I came across it: The crime scene.

I caught the suspect red handed. He still had stuffing on his nose! It was not hard to figure out what had happened.

I just felt sorry for the victim. The poor gingerbread man never even seen it coming. First went the nose then the stuffing.....

Case Closed...
