I LOVE Spring Part 1

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Spring!! The days get longer, the days get warmer, and people get nicer. No joke! There is just something about Spring, it's like a skin, the old dingy, pale white winter skin is off and a new fresh, not so pale white spring skin starts to form. (Or at least you don't get the strange looks for being tanned in Spring like you do when you tan in the winter. People can tell if you tan in the winter, I'm just saying.) It is  also the time of year that you can sit on you patio at night while blogging and hear a tractor plowing up the earth. What? Can't everyone do that? No? Just me? Hmmm. Anyway. Spring has sprung around me, and here is proof.

Boys can get outside and play.

Even if they really don't want to.

I'm just kidding, all little boys love to be outside. It is the number one rule of being a boy. Like dirt, period.

Number two rule of little boys in my family, smile when I aim a camera at you. You don't have to look at the camera, just smile.

The absolute favorite part of spring for me is this.....

Taking adorable pictures of my fluff fluff, dressed up in bunny ears. This just wouldn't have the same effect if there was 2 feet of snow on the ground. It would just plain look goofy.

Happy Easter

As a Christian, Easter is a day of rememberence. The day Jesus was resurrected from the dead. He is still alive today and every day. We started out the day with an Easter Program at our church, and I was so blessed to have my family with me there. We do not attend the same church, and having them with me meant so much.

As a member of a family, Easter is a time of unity of that family. To get together and snap pictures of everybody dressed up and enjoy a great meal. Easter has become one of my favorite holidays through the year. So enjoy these snap shots of my family and from ours to yours, Happy Easter.

It's a Easter Miracle

My sister told a funny story involving her son, Steven, at lunch yesterday. It went something like this:


"Mommy! There has been an Easter Miracle!" My anxious nepehew says at 5:30 Easter Morning. (I personally didn't even know 5:30 existed on Sunday mornings.)

"Oh, there has been?" My now awake sister says


"Yes!!!!"

"Well what is it Steven? What is the Easter Miracle?" 


"The Easter Bunny came to our house and has left us stuff!!!"

 Awww..the true meaning of Easter in a child's eye. I on the other hand had a different Easter miracle

I have made this cake 3 times before now. It has never turned out, NEVER! This cake has been my mission, my goal. A homemade strawberry cake with homemade strawberry icing.I mean it is a Paula Dean recipe and how many of us strive to be more like her?  The cake always ends up lop sided and the icing is too runny which might add to the the lop sidedness (I'm not sure that is a word?) but today, today God shined down on my baking and let me turn out a perfect cake. My Easter Miracle.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Easter's on its way.

Bringing every girl and boy
baskets full of Easter joy,
Things to make your Easter bright and gay.
He's got jelly beans for Tommy,
Colored eggs for sister Sue,
There's an orchid for your Mommy
And an Easter bonnet, too.

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Happy Easter day.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Look at him stop, and listen to him say:
"Try to do the things you should."
Maybe if you're extra good,
He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.

And you'll know that he was there
When you find those chocolate bunnies
That he's hiding everywhere.
