Lil Hoff Update Week 38

Week 38 and ain't life great! 

What is happening with Lil Hoff.....

1 I'm not saying what the average 38 week old baby weighs, cause I believe we all know that Lil Hoff is above average and the numbers just make me depressed. 

2. Lil Hoff does only have 2 weeks ( or 4 weeks max) before we meet him so he is preparing for last minute details. 

3. Such as...shedding of that skin protecting vernix and lanugo. He is also producing more surfactant, which will prevent the air sacs in the lungs from sticking to each other when he begins to breathe. I am not sure what all that means, but I am guessing it's all good!

What is going on with me.....

1. The doctor's appointment this week was all about getting bigger. I am bigger by eight pounds and Lil Hoff is bigger by 1 centimeter, but my cervix is not bigger. It stayed the same...yippee.

2. Farmboy told me that eight pounds was an excellent rate of gain. One pound per day, he doesn't have cattle that put on weight that fast. Once again..yippee.

3. The countdown is on to still have an October baby. Lil Hoff only has one week left! 

4. The St. Louis Cardinals are the new World Series Winners!! 

5. We made our first trip to return duplicate items to Wal-Mart. We then picked up a diaper genie, some onesies, (believe it or not, we did not get any just plain onesies) a baby thermometer and some other odds and ends. We were going to buy a bumbo but all they had was purple in stock. Wal-mart equals another yippee.

6. Farmboy caught his father's tractor on fire this week and burnt it up. So now he is on the hunt for another tractor. He is pretty excited about that.

7. I have found a new love! It is pinterest.com The website is amazing and full of so many neat ideas!! A totally good way to waste hours of my life.

8. As if waking up once a night to go to the bathroom is not fun enough, let's go ahead and make it twice a night. I really don't want more than two hours of uninterrupted sleep anyway. 

9. I have started taking Zantac to control my heartburn and overall it seems to be working! So while I am still waking up at the same time, it is not because of heartburn. That really is a yippee! 

10. Farmboy is starting to ask me everyday if today is going to be the day that Lil Hoff comes. I wish I had an answer for him......
