Big Top Adventure

I had hopes, I had dreams, I fantasized, that I would be able to take my two boys to the circus and that we would have a good time and that I would watch Lil Hoff light up at the lights, and noises, and animals. That I would feel like I had won the "Mom of the Year" award when we left, because I  had created the perfect night. Oh, how I had hopes.

Then reality slapped me in the face, and made me realize that I have this guy to contend with. (my hopes had not been crushed when this picture was taken)

This little guy didn't like the circus, didn't like the lights, didn't like the noise, and did not like the animals.

We tried, we really did....

But through the lions, clowns, elephants, and acrobats, he was not having it. What he was having (and I list in no particular order)

- Fits
-Rage
-Fits with rage
-Hungry fits
-Boredom fits
-Confined to tight quarter fits
-Upset that the boy behind us has Doritos and he does not fits
-Mommy won't let me play with her camera fits
-Mommy won't let me tear my book up fits
-Mommy in general is making me mad fits
-Mommy won't let me run away fits
-Mommy is trying to hold me fits
-Mommy is handing me off to daddy fits
-Daddy is no fun fits
-Mommy is ignoring me when Daddy is trying to give me back to her fits

and the cycle continued until the ring leader announced that we will be dismissing for a intermission. Oh glorious intermission when the crowds parted and we bid our good bye to the circus and mom's hopes, dreams, and fantasies.

Althought I did get to see a elephant AND Farmboy and I treated ourselves to ice cream afterwards. We felt like we deserved it. So overall not a complete loss.

A Learning Process

Sometimes my mommy lets me try new things such as this.

I'm not sure what this is

And I like to take the straw out

But if I keep the straw in and hold the cup down instead of tipping it, this liquid comes into my mouth and I sure do like it and I am sure happy mommy likes to share with me.

Fantasy VS Reality

Farmboy once told me I have a fantasy life in the mornings, I hate to admit it but before Lil Hoff I really did. So I had a crazy stressed out morning this morning and I thought I would compare my once "fantasy" mornings to now my reality mornings. (Farmboy still thinks I have a fantasy life)

Fantasy: Wake up with birds chirping, refreshed, with the smell of fresh flowers in the air at a time of convenience
Reality: Wake up with Farmboy's alarm of 5:40 to wake him up and kick him out of bed to hopefully get 15 more minutes of sleep to only be woke up by my alarm to jump into manic mode to hopefully get ready before Lil Hoff wakes up.

Fantasy: Watching the Today Show with a cup of coffee and a Fluff Fluff in my lap.
Reality: Catching 15 minutes of whatever news is on before it switches to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to record and forgetting I have coffee so I have to reheat it two or maybe three times.

Fantasy: Actually Eating Breakfast
Reality: Granola bar in the car

Fantasy: Getting dressed sometimes in several outfits until I found THE perfect outfit.
Reality: Keeping Lil Hoff from destroying my room while putting on a outfit that I might or might not look at myself before heading out the door.

Fantasy: Starting supper so I don't have to have so much to do
Reality: Texting Farmboy once I get to work to lay out some sort of meat product out because I forgot to do it that morning.

Fantasy: Getting in my vehicle and leaving
Reality: Chasing Lil Hoff around the vehicle before he puts cat food/dirt/oil etc in his mouth and put him in the vehicle kicking and screaming.

Fantasy: Buckling my seat belt and putting on sunglasses
Reality: Buckling Lil Hoff in with him still kicking and screaming with a banana to eat, feed the cat, return to vehicle with Lil Hoff yelling MAMA, MAMA, MAMA with his empty food dish. (translation, Get me more food woman!) So run back into the house to grab some fruit loops.

Fantasy: Plugging my IPhone in and listening to my music and having quiet time to ponder on the great things in life.
Reality: Pulling over TWICE to wipe a snotty nose because he has tried to wipe it himself and now has fore said snot on his fingers yelling MAMA, MAMA, MAMA (translation - get this off me woman)!

Fantasy: Pulling into work at 9:15, and still needing time to get ready for work, I.E. Facebook, email, etc
Reality: Pulling into work at 9:15 and still needing time to get ready for the day, I.E. Facebook, email, etc. But now I am out of breath and drops of perspiration is on my forehead.

What I would not change, is having this lil guy talking and laughing in the back seat and the time we spend cuddling in the morning while he is still waking up and I am using that time to give him some lovin'. With him screaming MaMilk, MaMilk, MaMilk. (translation - Give me my milk woman!)

He's all mine

Remember when I did my first ever tutorial on the "I love you because"? It was only a week ago people come on...

Well it was a huge success with the hubby and we have been sharing sweet nothings back and forth with each other. I put it in our bathroom so it will be in a place that you can easily write something for the other person to see. While I have been pouring out my heart with oh so much gushy sayings about why I love him, and how I can't live without him, and how he is the father of my child and that alone is enough reason for me to love him, this is what I get in return.

Be. Still. My. Heart.

Well I guess my momma was always right, you do get a guy's heart through his stomach or in this instance his tummy.

V-Day Surprise

Because I am giving my hubby a Valentine's day gift that is truly special and straight from the heart and one that can not be wrapped I decided to do something a little different for his "actual" gift. ( I will tell you what the other is later :) )

I had seen pictures of this on Facebook and so I did some investigative work on Pinterest, put my crafty hat on and away I went. So for the first time ever, I will be doing a tutorial on here of a craft project. Exciting, isn't it??

Buy a 8x10 frame and some Expo Markers

Get your Scrap booking paper together.

Next comes my favorite part, the Cricut machine. I heart my Cricut machine and the more I play with it the more I am so happy, happy, happy, I have one.

Because I have hand writing I have never loved and because I can not make bubble letters that I want permanently fixated in my house I made my letters with my Cricut machine, but if you like your hand writing and can make whimsical letters then more power to ya!

Next comes my second favorite tool in scrap booking. My sticker machine. You put these teeny tiny letters in and a sticker comes out! It's pure magic I tell ya!

Then assemble it and sha-zam, you have a gift for under $20 dollars and one that can only help your marriage not hurt it. Which is the criteria for my household.

You can write a new "because" everyday, the Expo markers wipe off easily, and you can have so much fun with it!

**SO my real gift to my hubby for Valentine's day is a fun filled weekend at a Farm Show in Kentucky with some of his college buddies. Am I a awesome wife or what?**

Everyday Moments

You know those moments when you look at your child and smile because the sun is shining and the world seems right?? I had one of those moments this morning....

Lil Hoff had woke up in a good mood and since he awoken early he got to get ready with momma. We brushed our teeth.

And he brushed his teeth some more while I put on makeup.

And brushed his teeth even more since he screamed when I tried to take his toothbrush away. (You have to pick your battles right? and since he is practicing good hygiene I'm not going to get in the way of that)

Then we combed our hair.

Look at Mr. Independent.

See??? Proof that this morning was off to a good start and I that I had a right to think when we walked out the door EARLY (which never happens)  my day was going to be a good day.

Then it happened

About 3 miles down the road Lil Hoff got sick, AND we had to turn around, AND go home, AND take a bath, AND change clothes, AND change the car seats out, AND start a load of laundry. After a quick check and saw he had no fever and he was in his room playing and grinning I decided it was a fluke thing and started out again. This time we made it about 8 miles and Lil Hoff got sick AGAIN, and we had to turn around AGAIN, and go home AGAIN, and take a bath AGAIN, and change clothes AGAIN, and change car seats AGAIN, and start a load of laundry AGAIN. This time we stayed put until my very sweet mother in law said she would be happy to watch him today. So he went to her house and I came to work and every so often I get a whiff of baby puke and am about 95% positive I must have it on me somewhere. Everyday moments are gone.

Rock on

Here is another edition of Watch-It Wednesday posted on a Thursday! I have to keep you on your toes you know.

Here is the back story of this video. Lil Hoff had awaken and was merrily walking around his crib when he realized that between his crib and the wall on the floor are not only one but two of his beloved pacifiers. I know this as when I went in there to get him out of his crib he pointed to them and made a ughh ughh sound which I then interpreted as "Mommy, dearest, would be the love of my life and pick those up for me" and I then in turn said "No". So we then went on with our morning and he disappeared into his room I walked in there and he had pulled this little rocker out of the spot of blocking him from getting into the fore mentioned area of crib and wall and gotten his two beloved long lost pacifiers.

You might be asking why I had the rocker blocking the spot of the wall and crib and that would be because his monitor that is also a video is set up on a table in that spot and I had it blocked so he didn't go back there and knock it off the table. Which he proceeded to do about 20 minutes after this video was made. I am only going to be smarter than him for a while longer......
